The Cleveland Museum of Art, CLEVELAND, OHIO

The Pacific Northwest holds a very special place in both G + A’s hearts. When we first began thinking about their design, a handmade paper of pressed ferns from Oblation Papers & Press used for their save the dates was a particularly inspiring piece for both of them. Using the color green in many of it’s persuasions (our bride’s favorite color) and the feelings of the PNW we crafted a wedding design with an enchanting, warm, moody, cozy, and inviting vibe. On the morning of their wedding, we collectively weighed the risks of the rainy weather threatening to pass through around their ceremony time, planned for the South Terrace of the Cleveland Museum of Art and ultimately decided to chance it. Mid-way through their ceremony, the storm did roll in for a brief but intense moment, prompting us to quickly usher guests inside and set our couple up under their head table structure to finish their ceremony in the round. It ended up being completely perfect as G wanted an outdoor terrace ceremony, and A wanted a ceremony in the round, and ultimately they got both! The couple noticed a rainbow had appeared during cocktail hour and even went outside to take photos in the last tiny bits of rain embracing the weather and kissing beneath the rainbow. As guests began to make their way to dinner, they found their seating on a wall of framed tree sketches created by Rose Gold Studio. The concept was that each family or group of friends had a tree of significance assigned to them; an apple tree, Buckeye tree, and a tree from where G + A met as camp counselors many years ago were featured among others. You could tell the guests were touched as when during their welcome, A explained the seating display and announced each of the trees, the guests cheered for their trees when mentioned. Everyone danced the night away under a canopy of cafe lights strung from mossy, fern covered wood beams giving the feeling as if you were not in the midst of the Cleveland Museum of Art, but rather in one of G & A’s favorite places, a forest out west.
