Private Estate, BEREA, OHIO

When M became engaged she knew the perfect location for her micro-wedding was her parents’ home. The century home, located in a suburb of Cleveland, OH, is gracious and inviting. Its rich history includes the belief it was once part of The Underground Railroad. The expansive grounds lent themselves perfectly to a sailcloth tent under which a sumptuous three course meal from Thyme Catering was served. A large element of the day’s design was the feeling of eclecticism as if we were sourcing all of our decor items directly from her home. We wanted the dinner to be the main event of the evening and so the place settings were a very important element of the design. Among bamboo handled flatware, woven placemats, and modern ceramic dinnerware, were custom napkins created straight from the extensive invitation suite illustrations by Rose Gold Studio; a super fun and personal touch. The dinner tables spilled over with fanciful florals from Molly Taylor & Co. and the custom bar with floral arches was both worthy of the elevated cocktail menu offered and served as the perfect delineation between our dinner and dancing spaces. Special details abounded on their wedding day, from the out of this world cocktail lounge style drink menus to M’s three outfit changes, to the escort display – one of our favorites ever! Margot is a total bibliophile and so we created an escort bookshelf where guests found their names hand lettered on wide ribbon tucked into books M had sourced for each guest. She, along with her family, also collected a mix of knickknacks throughout our time planning for inclusion on the shelves. Guests were enamored by the installation and delighted by the titles selected for them. We love a good micro-wedding and this one was one for the books.
